Pets.com is a perfect example of a dot-com bust. In 2000 they launched a huge network of warehouses across the US way too quickly, with profits never catching up with the media buying or commercials. Though it was very clear what they were selling, no one was interested in buying.

Pets.com

The stock famously went from $11 in the beginning of 2000, to just $0.19 on election day that year. Many companies were not able to get over the dot-com transition. And then there were those who tried to get into it, and wished they were out.
