Ice Diving: Antarctica Edition

Before even diving to incredible depths, the research team was hard at work exploring the amazing underwater world that had been practically hitherto unseen. They cut a hole in the ice the night prior to diving, and by morning it was already covered the hole. A disconcerting sight awaited them as they slipped into the frigid waters, as they watched the hole literally close behind them before their eyes.

A sluice of ice crystals had formed by the time he tried to pull himself back up’ and had formed a layer 3 feet deep. One diver got stuck just trying to get out and his friends had to extricate him using shovels.
