This is part of a growing trend that is down-sizing tiny homes, now including ‘micro homes’ like Luke’s house, that are under 100 square feet. Renee McLaughlin, the festival organizer has been living in an even tinier house, one that is only 87 square feet in total. She sold her 3,300 square foot home less than 2 years ago, moving into a space smaller than a single bathroom in her old house.

How’d she do it? By simply getting rid of stuff. Though getting rid of clothes and shoes was rough, she says she simply shops less, buys less, and throws out significantly less garbage.
