The History of Black Friday

Posted by Josh

And Now A Bit of Statistics

In 2018, Black Friday sales brought in $6.2 billion dollars. Cyber Monday brought over $7.9 billion. But that pales in comparison to Alibaba’s “Singles Day” Sale. Just this year they sold over $38 billion dollars of goods in 24 hours, reaching over $30 billion in the first 15 hours. Over 165 million consumers shopped during the previous holiday season, with over 95% of the purchases made for gift items.

And Now A Bit of Statistics

One thing that is looking up for retail stores is that more than half of buyers on Black Friday visited both brick-and-mortar, and e-commerce locations for deals.
