Frederick Douglass

Frederick Douglass probably sounds like a boring name but maybe it’s because you had to learn about him in school. The truth is, he was a pretty awesome and brave person. Douglass was a slave who fought for full emancipation, and wrote an amazing autobiography, called Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass. It was published in 1845 and is still one of the most influential slave narratives to this day.

Frederick Douglass was a huge part of helping slaves become free, he was a great advocate for that and he truly changed the lives of African Americans back then, and to this day. He died in 1895 but his spirit still lives on with us.
