The Most Annoying People On The Internet

Posted by M. Green

The internet is a big place full of people from all walks of life. While we all love spending some free time on the web, there are always aspects that annoy the heck out of us. In particular, some of the people we virtually come across. Whether you interact with or ignore them, its clear these people are the absolute worst.

Whether it’s because they’re acting entitled, getting on their high horse, or just harassing other people, they’re the kind of people we can’t stand. Thankfully they’re easy to ignore, we don’t need to talk to them face-to-face!

These are the worst types of people on the internet, have you come across any of them before?

reddit by u/yaodaman

They Give Terrible Parenting Advice

Please don’t ever smoke near a baby. Smoking’s already bad enough for the smoker. Don’t involve an innocent and developmentally fragile person like a baby in that. They still have growing to do. If there were some sort of magical smoke that could cure colic, it doesn’t come from Marlboro. It also doesn’t need to be breathed onto their fragile faces.

Reddit by u/EatingNutellaYah

Just because it’s a rumor doesn’t mean it’s true. This is also why medical school is so expensive. You need to be committed to science. You can’t be committed to nonsense. That leads to things like this going viral. If an M.D. endorses this they need to log out and hit the books again.

They Complain For No Reason

What a selfie this is. You have it all: the bus, the sign to give up the seat to people who need it, the young passenger watching the photo being taken, and the entitled adult who needed to document her complaint with a photo. In her world, the “inconsiderate youths” are the ones to blame for a poor elderly woman not getting an open seat.

Reddit by u/RunDNA

Of course, the irony of this situation is that she’s standing in front of a comfortable seat herself. There’s no reason for her to stand if she doesn’t want to. It looks like complaining is her first and foremost priority.

They Brag About Cheating

Why are teenagers allowed to date? We were all there once. Some of us are still there. Either way, nearly all of us are aware of how stupid we were back in our teens. We barely understood ourselves, let alone relationships and navigating the complexities of proper exercise. The fact this kid is bragging about this is a telltale sign they’re an idiot and not ready for a relationship.

reddit by u/Iloveyouyaemiko

They probably will never be in one either. What doesn’t make sense is why would you announce your “plan” to get your girlfriend to work out more. Nothing spreads a secret faster than blabbing it on Reddit. We hope his girlfriend has an account and saw this. She could lose a lot of dead weight by dumping him.

They Lie On Dating Apps

It takes a lot of guts to cheat on your significant other, not everyone has the nerve to do something so awful. This user was getting to know a guy for a little over two weeks. Right before they were supposed to meet up he pulled out the married card. He couldn’t have brought this up earlier on in the conversation. It’s almost like he got stage fright.

reddit

Who knows, maybe he’s intimidated by the fact that the woman he’s cheating with is a mechanical engineer. Or perhaps his wife found out about his Tinder account and he shut the whole operation down. Either way, we wouldn’t want to be this guy!

They Brag About Their Trashy Behavior

One of the first rules of doing something terrible is not to brag about doing it. How many successful criminals do you know who have bragged about their crimes? Yeah, only a handful of REALLY rich ones. If you admit to doing something bad, you’ll usually face some consequences. Just because the service at a fast food place isn’t as fast as you want, you don’t go and do something like this.

Reddit by u/SSOOGG

First off: those tables are for babies. Second: people shouldn’t create health hazards just because they’re inconvenienced. If you have to be told that then maybe you shouldn’t be interacting with other people in the first place.

They Overreact

Some conversations can take a radical turn for absolutely no reason. As we forget how to talk to people entirely, we’ve become very impatient as a species. Thanks to social media and being raised incorrectly, people hate being kept waiting. While we may be on our phones all the time, that doesn’t mean we’re on the same app or site.

Reddit

That’s the wonder of the Internet: you can go wherever you want. You also aren’t entitled to someone answering you whenever you want. If this guy acts like this online, just imagine how terrible he is in person. It also seems like he’s tried this before with similar results.

They’re Wrong…In More Ways Than One

Ah, the satisfying smack of a basic grammatical correction hitting one’s Twitter debate adversary square in the face. Is there anything that could sour that moment? That is, anything aside from confidently correcting someone’s grammar… when it turned out to be correct in the first place? Aside from opening with a nauseatingly misogynistic statement, they also demonstrated a basic misunderstanding of how opinions work.

Reddit via u/Tomfood

This poor sod fired back at the person who said what we were all thinking. He ended up poking a big hole in his already-tattered credibility and actually reinforcing their point. Once again, the wily apostrophe separates the wheat from the chaff for all to see.

They Try To Scam You

Scammers are getting smarter, but so are we. This text exchange was no match for the Reddit user who used his knowledge to predict the scammer’s next move. The scam in question? The good old “send me a code” trick. A scammer will often pretend to have trouble getting into one of their accounts or ask for your phone number to contact you when trying to get into your account.

Reddit by u/Right-Shelter

They’ll ask for a code to “verify” that it’s you when they’re attempting to bypass the security measures and hack into your account. They’ll try to change all of your passwords and then can reach out to your friends and family pretending to be you. And this guy knew what was coming: The scammer left the chat as soon as he was called out.

They Air Dirty Laundry

The beginning of a divorce is no picnic. Once you get over the initial shock of what happened, you have to start making important decisions, like who your lawyer will be, who’s moving out, and what custody over the kids and pets will look like. After months or even years of finalizing a divorce, the shock eventually becomes excitement at the opportunity to start a new relationship.

imgur

That is unless you were already looking for a new special person long before your divorce took place. This toxic ex publicly announced on his Facebook page that his divorce was finalized and he was officially on the market again. But his ex wasn’t going to let him get away with a bald-faced lie! She reminded him that he had always been on the market, implying the cause of the divorce… That’s shade.

They Mess With Their Families

The title of this mom group says it all: These ladies are on a mission to give their kids only the best foods in a world full of toxic ingredients. Seems like a noble and difficult cause, especially when it involves giving up Mcdonald’s. The only problem is that this mom’s definition of “toxic ingredients” will only result in endangering her child.

Reddit by u/NoAd3629

Call us crazy, but we don’t view soap as a threat. Our hot take is that using soap keeps people safe and healthy, even if the soap in that Mexican joint has fragrance or a few added ingredients. But it’s no surprise that this toxic mom sees exposing her kids to the potential chemicals in a restaurant’s soap as more dangerous than her child using a public bathroom, not washing their hands, then eating.

They Give Terrible Advice On Masculinity

Is it because women aren’t dogs or chickens at a pedigree show? This kind of creepy grading and observation system can’t be healthy. Who even thinks about looking for character insights in someone’s bunions and knuckles? This is why it’s always important to step away from your smartphone and other screens after a while.

Reddit by u/Estellar123

Explore the outdoors. Read a book printed on paper. Maybe clear your mind or seek professional treatment for whatever mental disorder is causing you to think like this. We’re not sure, but any of those options sound better than creeping women out with this weird…habit? Practice? Whatever it is, please stop doing it.

They Get Their Kids Involved In Dangerous Trends

Also known as the trash bag challenge, this is one of the less dangerous trends on TikTok. It involves a person getting into a garbage bag while someone else grabs a vacuum and sucks all the air out of the back. Essentially vacuum sealing the person inside. Because the trend is relatively harmless you would more often than not see parents doing it with their kids.

parentology

But the challenge does have some risks, the obvious one being suffocation. You don’t want to end up like one teen who managed to trap herself in the trash for two whole hours until her parents came and rescued her. Remember kids, safety first.

They Lie About Their Kids

This never happened. We can almost guarantee you the majority of this person’s post is probably fake. How? Because no toddler is that eloquent in their speech. Yes, some parents are incorrectly teaching their kids that the planet is as flat as their brainwaves. That’s already an issue. Things just go from bad to worse when you post your innocent kid’s face online and claim they’re saying nonsense when they aren’t.

reddit by u/killHACKS

You shared this photo and claimed your kid is calling out the toy manufacturer? No. What we see is a kiddo in a toy store pointing to something they may want. They have no idea what a globe is. That could be a multi-colored gumball that makes noise for all they know. Also, the Earth is not flat.

They Don’t Care About Other People

The wedding hosts have to ensure all guests are comfortable. This means things like making sure they’re fed, have beverages, and also a place to kick back! This couple wants to take comfort and chuck it out a window. Listen, wedding ceremonies are beautiful, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t get bored after a while.

reddit by u/mdnnnsph

We can’t imagine the added pain of sitting on our behinds in the great outdoors while trying to pay attention. Why a blanket? They couldn’t have settled on any middle ground, like floor cushions? If we had to attend a wedding like this, we’d send the newlyweds our dry-cleaning fee!

They Act Like They’re Tough Stuff

Disney kids don’t have the greatest reputation of going on to long and illustrious careers after their time working under the Big Mouse is over. Unfortunately for the whole world, Logan Paul defied this rule. Actually, maybe it was his brother Jake that was on Disney. Was it both of them? Honestly, we couldn’t care less.

reddit by u/AydanOfHouseCock

This Tweet is a few years old, but since then the Paul Brothers have made a name for themselves holding staged celebrity boxing events where they beat up on people in the twilight years of their careers just to keep themselves relevant. We prefer Logan when he’s working on his podcast rather than playing out power fantasies on Twitter.

They Act Like “Nice Guys”

Okay, here’s the scene: you’re eleven years old. It’s time to start your grand adventure. Your favorite animal companion is at your side. Your very first step into the unknown is met with an opponent! They’re nasty, breathing hard, and seem to not want to let you pass. What do you do? Exactly! You look up from your game and tell the jerk to move it or lose it.

reddit

The fact that some people refuse to leave others alone makes us think their role models are oddly popular rat-sized creatures from a video game. These people even evolve as they do into a bigger and more annoying form! Maybe real life isn’t becoming like Pokemon…perhaps Pokemon is just becoming more like real life?

They Have No Self Awareness

Social media has many pros and cons. Pro: You always have the ability to keep others up to date about your life. Con: You always have the ability to keep others up to date about your life. Naturally, some people’s Facebook feeds are just a record of all their stupid, unaware moments.

Reddit by u/DerthRoot

Example one: this Facebook user commented about how his stepmom was just staring at the stove when it was on fire and not putting it out. Meanwhile, he’s literally doing the exact same thing – by which we mean nothing at all – by posting about it on Facebook. Looks like his poor stepmom will be left to fend for herself.

They’re Totally Self-Centered

China, Russia, Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Argentina, Turkey, Syria, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand… These are just a few of the countries that exist independently of the US and use the metric system. In fact, the United States is just one of the three countries that don’t, making life difficult for everyone involved.

Reddit by u/kielrene

Even though we’ve never adopted this system, we’re the country responsible for it. Don’t you remember how important of an influence we were in 1793 when the system was introduced? Additionally, we are the center of the world. Without us, there wouldn’t be any other country. Think about it.

They Get Offended REALLY Easily

Did you know that not everyone follows the same religion? Someone please inform Patricia, it seems she’s missed that part about living on planet earth. In the most respectful way possible, if you can’t eat something, don’t eat it, and don’t tell other people what to do. We’re guessing no one’s asking you to observe Passover if you’re not Jewish, or fast on Ramadan if you’re not Muslim.

reddit by u/Yappyy

And the last time we checked, not all Catholics fast! How each person chooses to partake in their religion is up to them, not you! Now if you’ll excuse us, we need to go pick up some non-Patricia-approved ice cream.

They Always Need To Bring People Down

Wow, it takes a very special type of person to act this terribly. Good thing there are tons of them to stare at and question in this article! Take this ray of sunshine for example. Instead of posting a simple thumbs-up or positive affirmation, they go all hardcore for some reason. Giving up any sort of addiction can be tough.

reddit by u/the_smush_push

Whenever someone talks about how long they’re been successful at kicking their habit, most people are happy for them! At the very least they post a positive emoji. This person isn’t one of those guys. Nope, instead, they turned it into a contest where they’re the only winner! They really need to calm down, step outside for some fresh air, and relax or something.

They Try To Shame Service Workers

The pandemic has been going strong for almost two whole years, thankfully it’s starting to fade now and we can get back to our normal lives. Amid everything that went wrong during that time, there’s one thing that saw a great increase. And that’s Karens, specifically those who are against wearing masks.

reddit

When wearing a mask was mandatory, the internet began to flood with videos and posts of people complaining about wearing one. Filming themselves protesting in front of stores, being refused service, and even getting escorted out by police. All because they refused to wear a mask in public.

They’re Delusional

Letting go of an ex can be really difficult. Don’t believe us? Take a look at Kenzs’ humble way of letting the world know how great of a girlfriend she is. Parents can’t take any other side than their child in a breakup, it’s practically the law. Even if a parent wanted to subtly show support for the “ex” in the situation, they wouldn’t bash their child, or imply they’ll never find better in the process.

reddit by u/Random_Asian_314

With that being said, we do commend her for this bold tweet, it takes a lot of courage to post something like this. Maybe she just wanted to fluff up her social media profile so prospective suitors could see glowing reviews of past relationships. Whatever the case is, we’re intrigued.

They Act Like They’re Better Than Everyone Else

If you’ve never seen the “who asked?” memes, they usually go something like this… A few people are having a conversation, someone makes a statement, and out of nowhere, a fourth person has to interject themselves with some random nonsense. The memes are pretty cringe, but it’s even worse when it happens in real life.

reddit by u/canogacolgate

In this example, this girl feels it necessary to belittle people who enjoy having fun with their friends, claiming that those people can’t also excel in school and life. New flash Honey, everybody has to cut their own way in this world, and you’ll be much better off once you start focusing more on your own.

They Make Up Stories For Attention

Five-year-olds are not the most intelligent or confident beings, so this story has us feeling a little perplexed. This person was at the bank with their 5-year-old sister when all of a sudden someone came to rob the bank. This is typically the point where everyone does what they’re told, including the small defenseless children.

reddit by u/grandmaster_oatcake

However, this sibling painted a very different story. Their little sister stood tall and put the robber in his place, and even got a cash reward for saving the day. We’re not really sure how this story came to be, does this person even have a sister, were they ever at the bank, was the bank actually robbed? We’re so confused.

They Send Creepy Messages

We’re not sure what would motivate someone to send strangers creepy messages on the internet. But if you’re on the receiving end, then there are a few inventive ways that you can make sure the messages stop. Granted, these methods don’t work every time, but if you take a look at the girl in the picture below, she found a pretty good way of warding off creeps that could come in handy.

reddit by u/neva-electra

Just make a face like you’re really holding in a massive amount of poop, and scrunch your chin into your neck. Take out the selfie camera and bam– a face only a mother could love. Just make sure you delete the picture after dealing with the creep. You don’t want to accidentally send it to your crush!

They Act Like They’re Smarter Than Others

We’ll admit that Rick and Morty is a funny show. It pushes some of the boundaries for cartoons, and for the use of science in media, but is there a worse fan base out there? Maybe the KPOP stans? There’s nothing wrong with loving the show, but there’s a false equivalency that purveyors of Rick and Morty seem to draw between their own intelligence and the intelligence of the show’s creators.

reddit by u/yaodaman

This was another instance where we just can’t understand how the person didn’t catch themselves before sending out their post. A quick Google would’ve saved them the embarrassment of getting ratioed in the comment section and reposted down the line. But you live and you learn.

They Shame Their Partners Online

One of the most frustrating things every relationship struggles with is the lack of communication. We tend to keep things to ourselves in fear of rejection which results in misunderstanding and unnecessary arguments. On the other hand, some people deliberately choose not to share their feelings, assuming that the other side will be able to read their mind.

reddit by u/Kreptyne

We’ve all been in this situation. We ask our partners if they want something to eat, and they say no so we get food only for ourselves. Best case scenario they “steal” some of our food which is ok, sharing is caring. What’s not ok is making a fuss over it just like this girl did.

They Don’t Understand How Human Bodies Work

As society continues to march further and further toward oblivion, the Internet is around to remind us that most people are terrible. Whenever the topic of personal hygiene, the inner workings of the body, and other stuff comes up, our suspicions are confirmed: nobody should be voicing any opinions online at any time.

Reddit by u/objecter12

Cleanses, flushes, and all other types of snake oil do nothing that the liver can’t do. They also have very little (if anything) to do with a menstruation period. That’s probably why it’s shortened to just period. It has nothing to do with whatever this grammar-loving person thought it meant.

They Make Wild Assumptions

It seems like some Twitter users just want to start arguments and watch the world burn. Especially when they see men responding to tweets made by women. This guy decided to project his insecurities on someone with a sarcastic tweet. Little did he know that this guy was in a relationship with the woman he was commenting on.

imgur

We can only imagine how taken aback this guy must’ve been when he saw the reply. How do you even come back from a comment like that? Maybe this was his wake-up call to stop leaving snarky replies on random people’s tweets. No wonder this guy doesn’t have a profile picture, he needs to hide his shame.

They Harass Celebrities

Kelly Clarkson’s story challenges the stereotype that being thin will lead to happiness. Clarkson wowed the public with her American Idol appearance in 2002 and has won numerous awards since. Over time Clarkson has put on some weight and has embraced it. She has publicly said that when she felt pressure to be thin, she was miserable and stressed.

ruinmyweek

The most brainless thing someone could say to a secure, confident, and proud woman would be tweeting about her weight. Kelly Clarkson responded with sass and class while successfully making the hater look stupid. That’ll teach people to steer clear of bullying someone who knows their value.

They Can’t Keep Their Cool

Twitter is a platform that allows everybody to express themselves in any way they choose, as long as they follow community guidelines. But even then you should be aware of who you’re speaking to, otherwise, you might end up offending the wrong people. Or like in this case, completely screwing yourself over.

imgur

This person got their dream job working for NASA, like many of us do, they ran to social media to share the excitement and let everybody know. Little did she know that the person overseeing NASA would see the tweets and respond to the profanity. Let’s hope they learned a valuable lesson. When working for a big company you should always conduct yourself professionally on social media.

They’re Total Know-It-Alls

When you have a specific craving it’s pretty likely you won’t stop thinking about it until you’ve had it. For Rob Smith that was Japanese food, but much to his dismay the food didn’t taste authentic enough for him. The Kyoto native chef was happy to dish out some much-needed sass to put Mr. Smith back in his place.

instagram via takeawaytrauma

He asked Rob for some tips on how to make more authentic Japanese food, since apparently Rob thinks a Japanese chef is subpar to his level of knowledge about Japanese food. Hey, it’s not like the Japanese chef would come in and tell Rob how to grill a hot dog on the 4th of July!

They Have A Weird Way Of Bragging

We’re not sure who needs to hear this, but threatening to do violence against others is a crime. You might think it makes you look tough, you might think it will stop people from messing with you, but all it really does is highlight and broadcast your insecurities to the world. Take a look at this sorry picture for an example of that.

reddit by u/supaaslade

What is “Come and get some” supposed to mean in this context? Come take some cigarettes and help me fill up this quickly overflowing ashtray? Come have some spaghetti? Or is he threatening to shoot anyone who wants his spaghetti? We wish we knew what he meant, but honestly, we’re too confused.

They Bark Up The Wrong Tree

There are a lot of new words added to the dictionary every year, but we’re pretty sure ‘lesbian’ isn’t a particularly new addition. Any man who’s old enough to have two kids should be aware of what that word means. The lady isn’t interested, it doesn’t matter how many times you ask her.

Reddit by u/tired-princess69

Also, messaging a stranger on Facebook looking for a long-term serious relationship is kind of a crazy idea. We’re sure it works for SOME people, but the odds are so low that you’d be better off sticking to dating apps. Oh, and while on those apps, make sure you match with people who are attracted to your gender.

They Pretend To Understand Anatomy

For some reason, there’s been a lot of debate about breastfeeding over the years. Some guys can’t seem to grasp the concept that it’s a normal biological function, in fact, it’s the purpose behind breasts! Women don’t have them just to look good in dresses. This guy is so repulsed by a breast’s natural function that he compares breast milk to urine.

Reddit by u/lelawes

Basically, he’s telling us that he fell asleep during every one of his biology classes. He also doesn’t seem to understand that all mammals can provide milk, not just cows. Hasn’t he ever heard of goat cheese? And don’t even get us started on his misunderstanding of almond milk. This dude needs to get a clue!

They Expect Strangers To Care About Their Birthday

We’re actually kind of proud of this one. This guy went to Facebook marketplace in search of a new Apple Watch. He found one that was listed at $300, but wasn’t ready to close the deal without trying to haggle first. He casually slipped in that it was his birthday in a few days and tried to knock $50 off the price.

reddit

This isn’t a bad idea at all. Who doesn’t try to get a little bit of special treatment on their birthday? Sure, this guy went for the “I don’t care about your birthday” response, but another person may have sent a friendly “happy birthday bro” and given him a lower price.

They Have A Poor Grasp Of Geography

Many Americans aren’t educated about cultural differences in other regions of the world. We’re especially ignorant about Africa. Ask the next American you see to list 10 African countries on paper and we wouldn’t be surprised if they couldn’t do it. In reality, Africa is one of the most diverse continents on the planet, with 54 countries and the second-highest population after Asia.

Reddit by u/Aki008035 19

With all this in mind, it’s not surprising to say that people across the continent look different. One American, after seeing a reconstructed face of an Egyptian mummy, was shocked that she didn’t look like she expected. “The same Egypt that’s in Africa???” she said. Yes, sweetie. Egypt is in Africa.

They Show Off Their Toxic Parenting

How would you react if you came home to visit your family and saw this? A sleeping bag lying on the floor and your dad telling you to sleep in separate rooms. He’s clearly delusional if he thinks that he can prevent two engaged adults from sleeping together. The craziest part is that he brought a 12 gauge shotgun with him.

Reddit by u/Tomurisk

What was he going to do, murder the fiance if he dared to step a foot outside the room past curfew? It’s a shame we can’t see what’s going on in people’s heads. He clearly knows they’re sleeping together in their own home, otherwise he wouldn’t have brought out the shotgun.

They Can’t Let Other People Have Fun

Gosh, go volunteer or something instead of raining on everyone else’s parade. Actually, stay where you are doing nothing. All that rain will just help the Great Hedge Dragon grow. We never understood people who got offended by other people’s solitary hobbies. This guy is just calmly tending to his own (AMAZING) plants. He probably doesn’t even live anywhere near Sandra.

reddit by u/nidgeee

Imagine having so much free time you complain about something that has nothing to do with you. Perhaps she could volunteer her time somewhere. Then, she wouldn’t be wasting it online complaining about how other people spend theirs. Follow your own advice Sandra and leave other people alone.

They Compare Women To Objects

What kind of stupid logic is this guy using? If fifty different people wore a pair of shoes, and you buy them, that’s called shopping for vintage clothes. If fifty people have been with the same person before you date them, then they’re…still a person worthy of respect. Comparing someone’s personal value to clothing and whatnot is stupid. That’s it.

Reddit by u/_u_whats_this

It’s just dumb and nobody ends up coming out looking like a good person. People aren’t supposed to be placed on some sort of value scale. They’re not commodities and their prior relationships shouldn’t weigh into how much you think they’re “worth”. This guy’s gross and we hope he has 0 shoes and 0 dates in his life.
