Eventually, the case went to trial, and was overseen by State Supreme Court Justice Donald Greenwood. Justice Greenwood had initially encouraged Michael to leave his parents house on his own terms, and not continue with the court proceedings until he was forcibly removed.

But Michael believed he would be able to fight the system–he was not moved by the judges words. He shared his thoughts on the situation.
