Writing the Report

Vic Blickem worked for a time at the casualty assist office at the Air Force base at Mildenhall. Him and the soldiers there had no idea how to file the paperwork, which they needed to do in order to help the family.

They weren’t sure if they should classify him as AWOL, Deserter, or Missing; they were totally flummoxed.

Writing the Report

They started writing messages to try and piece together answers so they could fill out the paperwork.

Soon after, they were told to cease and desist, upon asking his section commander if Meyer’s was shot down, his response was a prompt  “well, of course.”
