Everything was Not ok

One of the last things he said to his wife once he was in the air was that he was “ok.” He may have said that he was “ok”, and he may have passed the Air Force’s reliability tests, but Meyer had been suffering terribly since Vietnam.

Everything was Not ok

Frequent flashbacks and nightmares had caused him to start drinking heavily as a response. The alcoholism affected his relationships in the military and outside of it, with many knowing of his drinking issues. 

The fact that he was married for less than 2 months and away from his new bride didn’t improve the situation.
