Iconic Brands That No Longer Exist

Kodak

Kodak was once a titan of photography. In 1975, their release of the first digital camera changed an entire industry. Engineer Steven Sasson’s creation of the DSLR camera in 1989 further cemented the brands standing as an industry leader. Unfortunately, Kodak use it’s own momentum.

In an age where photo sharing was replacing photo printing very rapidly, Kodak continued to focus on photo printing. In 2012, the company went bankrupt. Though a rebound attempt in 2016 with the hybrid “Super 8” digital and film camera, Kodak has gone from pinnacle to vintage niche.
