Iconic Brands That No Longer Exist

Posted by Josh

Pebble

Pebble’s claim to fame came at the beginning of the crowd-funding age, becoming the most successful Kickstarter campaign of all time in 2012, when it raised $10.3 million through the site. The product was released to the public fully in 2013 and began being sold out everywhere within days. By 2014 they had sold 1 million products and 2015 would mark the launch of 2 new smartwatches.

These would break even more records, with $20.3 million in backing from over 75,000 people. Despite this rampant success in the realm of crowd-funding, Pebble was unable to remain financially stable, and was eventually sold to Fitbit in 2016. Though some employees moved over, the Pebble brand ceased to exist.
