Gadgets That We All Used in the 80’s

Posted by Tali

The Clapper

The Clapper performed a task that now the Google Home does amongst a vast array of other things, and that is turning off and on lights with a command. It always seemed super cool and slick when they did it movies, so when The Clapper came out we were amazed. It plugged into a power socket in your wall, and you could clap to turn the lights on and off.

The Clapper

On paper it sounded great, but in practice it was pretty sub-par. It could be set off by anything from coughs to dog barks, which is pretty annoying when your lights keep going on and off from the neighbors dog.
