Casio watches have been worn by millions for decades, but calculator watches shot up in popularity once Casio dropped its number-crunching wristband in 1980. It was a cool item for basically any kind of person and age, nerds and playboys alike rocked this watch.

Billed as “the watch that replaces everything”,  but it’s pretty funny to hear that statement about a watch that could also do calculations, now that we have smartwatches. Business Insider recently posted an article titled; “30 Years Later, This Nerdy Watch Is Still Super Awesome”, about the Casio Calculator watch, so I guess this trend still lives on.
