The Helicopter Crash

If you watched the HBO miniseries, you might’ve noticed the helicopter that came tumbling to the ground in episode 1 after flying into an irradiated cloud of smoke while trying to help extinguish the fire. In actuality, the helicopter that crashed at the nuclear plant had a much less harrowing journey.

Weeks after the initial explosion, a helicopter team flew to the site to help with relief efforts. However, the pilot clipped the propeller of the helicopter on a nearby crane, and the chopper immediately flipped over and dropped, killing everyone inside.
