Facts We May Not Know About Chernobyl Disaster

Posted by Coby

The Real Chernobyl

The Chernobyl nuclear power plant may be named for the city of Chernobyl, but actually the closest city to the plant is Pripyat, a city built for the workers of the power plant to live in. The actual city of Chernobyl is located 11 miles from the explosion site, and remains a ghost town today.

However, a few people still live there with signs detailing their occupation, and two general stores and a hotel are still open for tourists to the infamous city. There’s also a memorial path you can walk down. Vacation anyone?
