You: Exchanging holiday greetings via mail is surprisingly one of the newer traditions when it comes to Christmas pastimes. The first formal card to ever hit the market was in 1843 and that first year a thousand were printed and it only cost a penny to mail, while the card itself was a shilling, 12 times as much as the postage itself.
