Ding Ding! That’s the sound of those electric scooters that you can never seem to escape when you’re walking down the street. While these intrusive little vehicles seem to be a modern irritation, they’ve actually been around much longer you would think!

The photo you see below was taken in the 1960s, and functions as a portable suitcase and a scooter. Believe it or not, these vintage rides could reach a speed of up to 35 miles per hour. Originally designed in France, this invention probably blew people away when it first came out.
