Everybody knows Carson was an alcoholic, it wasn’t even a secret back then. He would drink a lot and many of the people who met him say he was a particularly mean drunk. But, in 1982 he wasn’t just mean, he was breaking the law, Carson was caught drinking and driving, which we all know is a big no-no! He was caught and sentenced to three years’ probation. During his probation, he wasn’t allowed to drive anywhere but work, or to drive anyone but himself in his car.
