Have we already mentioned how important scientists were and still are in our history? Well here’s another one; Mr. Galileo Galilei was astronomer, scientist and philosopher who was born in Italy in the 16th century. Most of his discoveries were astronomy related, and he is responsible for perfecting the telescope. He also spoke out about his agreement with Copernicus’ Theory, that the earth revolves around the sun. He was extremely revolutionary, and also extremely brave since was tried by the Catholic Church because of his scientific discoveries.

He spent his final years under house arrest, but he used all his free time to write one of his best works, The Discourses and Mathematical Demonstrations Relating to Two New Sciences. Talk about a long title!
