The Most Influential People In History
Frida Kahlo
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican-born painter who is now a household name for a number of reasons. She was a self-taught artist, and her paintings are recognizable and known by people all over the world to this day. Kahlo’s painting style is a combination of traditional Mexican folk art with surrealism. The interesting thing is, painting was not her career of choice- rather she survived a tragic accident that should have killed her, which lead her to spend most of her recovery time painting, so her art is an expression of raw emotions.

Frida defied society’s beauty standards, her face is super recognizable especially due to her iconic unibrow. She was also un-apologetically bisexual, and didn’t care about gender roles. Frida’s home, nicknamed “La Casa Azul” or “The Blue House” because of its vibrant blue color, still stands in Mexico City, and you can visit it and explore inside to have a look into her personal life.
