Billie Jean King was born in 1943. She was a professional tennis player and a pioneer in women’s rights in sports and in general. She’s famous for competing in and winning in 1973’s “Battle of the Sexes”, A tennis match against the chauvinist tennis player, Bobby Riggs. The match was watched by over 100 million people, and her victory showed the whole world that women can be just as good as men if not better, even when it comes to physical activities like sports.
