Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? Everyday Citizens, That’s Who

This cartoon was released by Walt Disney that like most Disney pieces, had a deeper meaning behind the whimsy of the cartoon.

It was released in 1933, the worst year of the recession, and became very symbolic of the populace weary of endless debt collectors and economic hardship.

Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? Everyday Citizens, That’s Who

But the symbolism was not one of weariness, but one of hope. That despite the trials and tribulations people will succeed and triumph against the adversities they faced, represented by the wolf.
