20. Sarah Lawrence College

Sarah Lawrence College is based in Bronxville, New York. Its alumni include J. J. Abrams, Jordan Peele, Barbara Walters, Yoko Ono, Carrie Fisher, Vera Wang and Peter Gould, who produced and wrote Breaking Bad. Its academics focus on liberal arts, in particular the humanities, performing arts and writing. In 2016 the Princeton Review ranked it first among colleges for classroom experience. It has a student-teacher ratio of 9:1 and has a beautiful New England-style campus. It used to be an all-female college until 1969 when it turned co-ed.
