This is surprising because there is no other band more closely associated with the hippie movement crowd at Woodstock, but the Grateful Dead did admit that their set was kinda a disaster.

Due to the rain,the electricity was striking them through their guitars and microphone, and they only ended up playing five songs so they were only paid $2,500.

As for Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young they went for $5,000 each. There were lots who played for a couple thousand dollars, and lowest paid performer was Quill for $375.
