Surprising Facts About Woodstock Festival

Posted by Tali

And More of People Who Turned Down Woodstock

The Rolling Stones declined because Mick Jagger was filming a forgotten movie called ‘Ned Kelly’.

Joni Mitchell was convinced not to go by her manager because he wanted her fresh for a show appearance where she ended up playing with two singers that did go to Woodstock- two members of Crosby Stills and Nash, and Jefferson Airplane.

She was also forced to write the song ‘Woodstock’ based on her boyfriend Graham Nash’s account of the event.

The Doors didn’t play “because we were stupid and turned it down. We thought it would be a second class repeat of Monterey Pop Festival.” Iron Butterfly and Roy Rogers also missed out.
