Woodstock Launched Martin Scorsese’s Career

Woodstock, the 1970’s documentary directed by Michael Wadleigh was actually the project that served as Martin Scorsese’s launching pad to the iconic director that he is known as today.

He was hiring as film editor and hardly got to enjoy any of the performances because he was so busy trying to capture everything for the film.

He then was given 120 hours of footage to try and edit down into something viable, and he said they had seven hours of a movie of concert footage that was eventually to be cut down to a three hour documentary film.
