After a colleague’s house party, and beginning to behave erratically, his friends convinced him to go home. But Meyer had no intention of doing so, and escaped out the window.

After wandering around and being arrested for being drunk and disorderly conduct, he was escorted back to his barracks. But the night would not end here.

Then posing as a captain, he ordered the C-130 on the tarmac to be refueled, evading efforts to stop his flying. Though he had a private pilot’s license, he was not nearly qualified enough to fly such an aircraft.
