Graffiti Tags Reimagined

The picture on the left shows some of the most common graffiti out there. Each group creates their own style of writing and signature. Though it’s just a name, the tags easily double as works of art. But usually when workers go to paint over the names, they cover them up to leave a clean canvas. Here we have someone who decided rewriting the tags in a typeface font would be better.

The picture on the right looks like someone printed out the signs and tacked them onto the wall. The writing is so square. It almost seems like a work of art in itself. It looks like this new artist is trying to make a statement of their own. The magic of the tags goes away when you take away their style. The random names on the wall look more like a memorial.
