Road signs are often used to warn drivers about wildlife crossings. “Deer crossing” is a common sign seen in many parts of the United States. But this is the first time we’ve ever seen a sign warning driver to avoid wild turtles! And a vandal decided to make this unusual sign even stranger.

With a small, strategically placed crown on the turtle’s head, and a modification to the X in “x-ing” which is switched out for the letter K, we now have a sign reading “Turtle King.” This sign, informing drivers about tortoise royalty ahead, makes us instantly smile. Move over, Tiger King!
