Magellan NAV 1000
At this point, with all the navigation apps we have on our smartphones, even the 2001 personal GPS devices seem archaic. But what is even more antiquated is the world’s first commercial GPS to appear in the market in 1989- the Magellan NAV 1000. The first GPS was created to be used by the U.S Government and Air Force, but then it became commercially available to the public.

It’s really hard to imagine a time where we couldn’t just pull out a device to help us get home if we were to get lost, and that’s definitely a good thing.
