A Strange Juxtaposition 

Black Friday started in the United States in 1869, and originally had no connection to Thanksgiving. Now we think of it as the first moment we prepare for Christmas shopping, plus a time to score excellent deals. This tradition has spawned Cyber Monday and stretched out to countries all around the world. But in the US, the juxtaposition of Black Friday is a little ironic.

We spend an evening thinking about all the things we have, everything we’re grateful for…only to rush to the stores to buy things we probably don’t even need. Some people choose to boycott Black Friday and purposely do no shopping on that day. What’s your take on it?
