We all flip through the pages of our family photo albums every now and then, but these folks have come up with an even better idea. Rather than simply looking at their childhood photos, they decided to re-create them! From heartwarming to downright awkward and hilarious, these fully grown adults recreated these snapshots from their childhood. And their parents and friends were more than happy to get in on the fun!

60. A Pile Of Cuteness
Leaf piles are one of the greatest joys of autumn. After all that hard work of collecting the fallen leaves, jumping into the huge stack is a great feeling. It’s like a gigantic feather mattress. When you’re small and don’t weigh much, the heap breaks and you fall easily. It makes sense that this seasonal activity made for some great photos that were worth recreating.
These sisters look completely delighted in both photos. What’s also crazy is how much the quality of the camera improved over time. In the new picture you can see the fine details on every individual leaf. Yet another thing that shows the passage of time and how far technology has come. Recreation photos aren’t just about the people, they also showcase the camera!
59. Sibling Superheroes
This picture setup is completely priceless. Whoever’s idea it was to have these superhero poses really knew what they were doing. The kids really got into it. This recreation photo is also amazing. They have the exact same clothes and brought the exact same energy. But honestly, the brother in the back is stealing the show.
Getting your children to pose for serious photos can be a huge challenge. A lot can go wrong with simply smiling and looking straight into the camera, especially if people aren’t naturally photogenic. Therefore, coming up with an idea like this often produces a better, and more memorable photo. These siblings probably had an easy choice when it came to finding the right photo to recreate!
58. Well, That’s Just Rude!
Talk about a rebel child! This young girl felt like she was trapped in a 60-year-old man. With the middle finger up in one hand and a glass of whiskey neat in the other, she looks like she belongs in a Hollywood film from the ’70s. We’re sure the woman in the upgraded photo was old enough to drink when she took the photo. It’d be pretty funny if she still couldn’t legally drink.
The girl in the original photo looks more like a diva than the older version. It’s as if she got less of an attitude as she grew older. Her face changed from smug to just smiling. She couldn’t replicate the face exactly, because she just isn’t that young mischievous girl anymore.
57. Kids In Stripes
These side-by-side photos are so aesthetically pleasing. The complete 180 changes of their heights make for a cool effect! These photos also prove that children’s clothes and adult clothes are virtually the same. The fact that they could find shirts that were similar enough to the original speaks volumes. Even the socks are the same! It would’ve been cute if the youngest brother kept his curls.
Seeing a grown man with golden baby locks would’ve been great. It’s also nice to see these adult men could carve some time out of their busy days to orchestrate this photo re-creation. It takes quite a bit of planning to get that many details right!
56. Same Ol’ Dad
This photo was such a hit, they just had to take it again. Their size change doesn’t matter, because the love their dad has for them is enough to carry their weight. The smiles on all of their faces make us all warm and fuzzy inside. It’s nice to see everyone smiling in photos.
As great as the original photo is, it has one small flaw. The girl has her eyes closed! Her smile makes up for it though. Maybe that’s why they both wore sunglasses in the remake. We wish the siblings would’ve switched places for the full effect. It’s a small detail but it’d make all the difference.
55. T-Rex Would Be Proud
Siblings that T-rex together stay together! These two goofballs had a great time pretending they were prehistoric dinosaurs. So much so that they had to do it again as adults. We can imagine them finding this photo of their younger selves and decided that it was too good not to recreate. We love the dedication they had to capture the original faces and mood for the photo.
It’s not easy to tap into your childhood persona after so many years have passed. We’re rarely the same people we were when we were younger. These two probably gave their parents a hard time every time they tried to take a normal picture of them.
54. Brotherly Love
The most hilarious part of this photo is the awkward hand. It was a detail that needed to be considered and thankfully it was. The planking on the lap is also pretty silly. It was obviously quite important to the younger brother to get humor out of the original position. Unfortunately, he missed the weird hanging feet.
The older brother definitely looks more comfortable in the original. But then again, a baby weighs much less than a teenager. If only they had been able to find an adult-sized version of that red onesie. That would really have made everything much better. But when recreating photos, you have to work with what you have. And regardless, the intention came across loud and clear.
53. Eighteen Years Later
This original photo shows the peak of nineties kids’ fashion. The loose jeans and t-shirts, the haircuts, and the styling are all completely on-brand with the era. The little boy even has a mullet! They look like they just finished being extras on Full House. But even the mullet can’t beat the awkwardness of this brother’s pose. He was forced to be on his hands and knees between his sister’s legs!
The recreation also hints at the fashions of the time. Some of the jeans are low-rise and flared. But the pose didn’t age so well. That awkward crawl took a turn for the uncomfortable now that the brother is all grown up. But that’s the charm of recreations, you get to demonstrate just how ridiculous your old photos were.
52. A Muddy Good Time!
What a mess! You’d think that getting older meant that you were done playing in the dirt. At least now these perfectly capable men can scrub all that mud out of their fingernails themselves. We wonder what activity got them all muddy in the first place. As kids, they probably just rolled around on the ground for a bit. Kids don’t need a good excuse to get themselves filthy. They’ll take every opportunity to make bathtime harder for their parents.
You can just tell that these four were up to no good. Don’t let their innocent smiles fool you! After the original photo was taken they all probably kept throwing mud at each other. It’s hard to separate boys from their mud.
51. Ready For A Rainy Day
Oh, how the tables have turned! The height differences between these siblings completely changed over the years. The kid in the red jacket got his growth spurt and managed to tower his other siblings. The kid in blue probably bragged about being the tall one when he was younger, but look at him now!
This goes to show how you can never really predict how someone will look when they’re older. If their height proportions stayed the same, this updated photo would’ve been a 10/10. But it’s still pretty adorable.
50. He’ll Always Be The Baby
In every family, the youngest sibling is always considered the baby. Even when they’re old and gray their parents will treat them like they’re still in diapers. Take this photo for instance. The youngest sibling is sitting comfortably in his mom’s arms, even after growing up! We’re sure as an adult he’d prefer to stand on his own two feet, but his mother just can’t seem to let him go.
We’re not sure what it is about the youngest sibling, but they always seem to get the most attention. We’re sure the older version of this younger sibling is just as much a mama’s boy as he was back then. His sibling on the right doesn’t seem to like it very much!
49. Uh Oh Spaghetti-O
This is one of those photos where you ignore the mess because it’s so darn adorable. The recreation of this photo, however, is not as endearing. She had good intentions but the photo just doesn’t have the same effect. Maybe this woman just really wanted to eat her food like this again but didn’t want to be shamed. This is the perfect excuse to eat messily.
For some reason, adults eating messily is never quite as cute. But you have to give this woman credit for doing such a good job at setting the scene. We can get past our discomfort to appreciate the level of accuracy she managed to achieve. Kudos!
48. One Tub Five Siblings
These kid’s parents wanted to get bath time out of the way as quickly as possible. You can imagine having to bathe 5 children one at a time would take a while. This is the perfect solution! Just throw all of them all at once and hope they’re smart enough to clean each other!
For the purpose of this photo, we’re glad these kids had their bathing suits on, but we hope their showers after this were in their birthday suits. You can’t get properly clean otherwise. We also love how the kid in the bottom of the tub is just enjoying life to the fullest. He doesn’t care about the photo, he’s swimming.
47. No Sandcastles For These Two
Going to the beach is always fun when you have a buddy. This girl doesn’t seem to be enjoying her time with her brother. Her entire body is submerged in sand, and she didn’t anticipate it being so uncomfortable. She has to use the bathroom, and something’s getting a little itchy! The re-created version emphasizes the discomfort in her face. On the other hand, the brother seems to be having the time of his life.
We’re not sure if he’s satisfied with his sister being uncomfortable, or he’s just really enjoying being in the sand. There is only one inconsistency. In the original, he has sand in his mouth. We’re guessing he wasn’t keen on recreating that element.
46. It’s The Same World, Overall
Let’s agree that only children are allowed to wear overalls. We wish we hadn’t seen this terrifying photo of these adult men in only jean overalls. Their intention to re-create an adorable picture from their past turned into our nightmare. Even though the poses, overalls, and backdrop are all essentially the same, the new version just isn’t right.
Any family member that sees these two photos next to each other will try to pretend like they’ve only seen the original. After the initial shock, you eventually get to a point where you just find this hilarious. There’s a creepy factor that you can’t help but laugh at. It’s the facial expressions for sure.
45. When Dad Can Do It All
From being the Terminator to a governor, this dad always found the time to cut his son’s hair. His busy schedule never stopped him from having quality time with his little man. This young boy was probably so excited to spend time with his celebrity dad. The older version is putting on a smile for the camera, but he much rather go to the local barber.
His dad is cool and all, but he thinks it’s time to go to a professional for his haircuts. He knows his dad claims he can do it all, but he just really needs a break. He couldn’t even commit fully to the re-creation, he was on his phone the whole time!
44. Look At All That Leg Space
We can picture the days when we’d go on the family road trip and everyone would be fighting over who sits where. This family didn’t have that problem it seems. They’re all sitting comfortably in their seats. Especially the boy in the back. He’s got all the room to lay down and spread out. His siblings don’t seem to mind though. They’re grinning from ear to ear! Perhaps it was only because their parents were taking a picture.
Once that phone was down these three went into full-on war in the backseat. As adults, the two siblings in the front seem to have a lot of tolerance for their hairy-legged brother. Maybe they really do love each other after all!
43. Gentle On The Inside
We love to see sweet photos like these. Yes, we’re talking about the newer version of the photo. We’ve all seen those delightful baby photos thousands of times already. The older sibling always hugs their younger sibling as if they didn’t just throw something at them 30 minutes earlier. It’s all staged anyway. This renewed version is very refreshing. It proves that even as adults they can be charming.
They love each other enough to agree to be this close to one another, even when they’re grown adults. That’s what you call a true brotherhood! It’s hard to imagine how those two angels on the top became the bearded men at the bottom.
42. Recreating A Photo Gone Wrong
Most people like to recreate the most idyllic family moments, but not these people! They decided to reenact the moment a photoshoot went terribly wrong, and the results are pretty funny. They seem to be pretty relaxed in the original photo, we guess the two older children were prone to being a little rowdy.
The baby was just sitting there, not understanding what all the fuss was about. You’d expect the infant to be the one to throw a fit, but he’s just as laid back as his parents. We guess the older siblings learned how to pose for a photo, even if that means acting like they’re throwing a fit!
41. A Failed Attempt
Three young boys fit perfectly in a small plastic box, however, the same adult versions of those boys definitely don’t. It’s clear that these three amateurs tried to re-create their lovely childhood photo and failed. The end result is undoubtedly funny, but it’s probably not what they were going for. We can just picture them getting into the box one by one until it couldn’t handle their weight any longer.
This is like trying to squeeze an elephant into a water bottle! Their parents probably weren’t thrilled that they just destroyed their childhood box. At least this chaotic photo will serve as a cherished memory.
40. Best Friends Forever!
You can just feel the love these three have for one another through the photo. Their friendship lasted from when they were kids to young adults. We can imagine their sleepovers being so much fun! There seems to be a bit of an age difference between them, but that didn’t stop them from getting close. Age is but a number! Kids don’t care what age their friends are.
These three were so excited to recreate their childhood photo that they couldn’t help but smile. Even though only one of them was actually smiling in the original. They couldn’t seem to keep a straight face, they were just so thrilled! This is a friendship that will last a lifetime.
39. When You Don’t Have A Pool
Children love playing in water. These two didn’t have a pool so their parents had to improvise. They just found two buckets and called it a day. The older boy seems to be enjoying himself. He knows how to appreciate the little things in life. His little brother doesn’t look too thrilled that his parents made him sit in this small container.
He might fit in the bucket but he’s not having fun. The older boys somehow managed to find buckets that were big enough to fit their whole bodies in, which is pretty impressive. It was probably pretty uncomfortable to sit there while the picture was being taken, but it was definitely worth it.
38. Once A Fan, Always A Fan
The chances of meeting a celebrity are already slim, but this kid managed to meet the same one twice! Despite being in a headlock the boy looks like he’s having the time of his life. It’s nice to see Hulk Hogan made time for his fans, and still does so! He didn’t let the fame get to his head. He probably even enjoyed taking photos with enthusiastic fans like this one.
The boy was able to come full circle with his favorite wrestler, and he got two great photos out of it! We wonder if Hogan remembered this kid when he saw him the second time. It’d be awesome if he did.
37. The Wonders Of The Human Body
What an adorable baby photo! Sleeping babies are always so serene-looking. Recreations of sleeping baby photos aren’t. Out of all of the photos that he could’ve picked he chose this one. We’re a little surprised that his mom agreed to let him do this. He’s not the same baby he was. He’s a big boy! Now she’ll have this new photo attached to the original forever!
Every time she tries to reminisce about her beautiful baby boy she’ll remember what a nuisance he’s become! Imagine grown adults would sleep on their mothers like this all the time. It’s too strange to even consider. The visual of a bunch of big people laying on their mothers for a nap makes us wish we never saw this!
36. Sharing His Achievements Over the Years
This guy kept the same hobbies all through his childhood. He went from being a Cub Scout to a bonafide Eagle Scout! His parents must be so proud of his perseverance over the years. He also graduated into a new pair of glasses, the new ones definitely fit today’s style better. But there’s one element that definitely hasn’t changed.
And that’s his support for the Atlanta Braves! We’re interested to know if that’s the same baseball cap or not. If it is, he’s kept it in very good condition, he must not wear it out too often. We hope he’s still supporting his team and building pinewood derby cars today!
35. Always Her Little Boy
Many of the photos on this list are only a decade or two apart. While all photo recreations are impressive, this one kicks it up a notch by having a whopping 54 years between them! Her baby boy isn’t so little anymore, he’s a man with a grey beard, and he’d be a lot more difficult for her to pick up.
The first photo just screams the 1960s with her hair curlers and polka-dot bathing suit. Mom looks so happy to pose with her son. He’ll always be a baby in her eyes, she doesn’t care how long his beard gets! This photo is the epitome of being a mom.
34. Nap Time
Napping with dad looks like a dream. The dad’s face looks so at peace. His newborn baby son should be driving him crazy, but he’s making him calm instead. This dad and son duo managed to make the new photo look like they’re genuinely sleeping. The baby in the original photo has his eyes slightly open, but in the new photo, the guy looks like he was knocked out.
They were probably sitting in this position for a few minutes and their bodies just took them back to that moment back in the day, and they just closed their eyes and slept. Looks like it was the best nap that they had in years!
33. Two Jacks, One Box
We can appreciate this, despite the photoshop. They did manage to find a box from the same company. These two tattooed men probably wanted to make their parents smile by sending them this renewed version of one of their favorite childhood photos. They were such good buddies when they were younger. The older of the two would put his baby brother in this cardboard box and play with him.
The younger brother doesn’t seem to mind that he was just a pawn in a game. He was happy to comply. Seeing the recreated photo without any context would surely bring up a lot of questions. We hope they didn’t just leave it hanging around the house!
32. Cue The Crying Child
It’s incredibly common for at least one family photo to be ruined by a crying child. It’s a huge challenge to get everyone happy and smiling for every family picture. And with five children, the attempts don’t always succeed. Though the boy did a great job recreating his upset facial expression in the new photo.
However, what really steals the show are the outfits the girls chose to wear for the newer photo. They couldn’t find those crazy patterned dresses so they just threw blankets on. It also looks like some of the kids recreated their haircuts! The girl in the back even has the same huge glasses! These successful and semi-successful attempts at staying true to the original make this recreation hilarious.
31. Doesn’t Fit in the Sink Anymore
Gone are the days of taking baths in the sink, not that you’d be likely to remember them anyway. Though your parents can probably recall the days when you were tiny enough to wash in there. As a baby he might’ve been blissfully unaware of what was going on, he looks a lot more terrified as an adult!
He’d much rather be in a bath or shower. He seems to have around the same amount of hair as he did as a baby, though his dad is practically bald at this point. As we age we get bigger and our hair falls out, it’s just part of life!
30. Just Waiting for Something to Happen
If you grew up in a suburb or rural area you probably had a lot of free time on your hands. Especially over the weekend. Sometimes there’s nothing better to do than sit around on the porch and wait for someone to take you somewhere. Hopefully as an adult he has a driver’s license and doesn’t need to rely on anyone.
Or perhaps he’s just happy to sit around on the porch. A simple life is all he needs! Looks like the front stoop got an interesting paint job over the years. Plus, junior has graduated to shopping at Abercrombie & Fitch! Hey big spender.
29. 60 years old and Looking Great!
This photo was a 60th birthday present for mom, and what a beautiful one it is! The three of them were spot on with the outfits. Mom is probably thrilled to show that her dress still fits like a dream. She’s looking great for 60, what’s her secret? The people want to know!
On another note, her two sons did an excellent job of finding clothes that look like their old ones. They’ve definitely shot up way past their mom’s height, that or she’s shrunk as she’s aged. Maybe both! They’ve all got matching hair colors, too. But on the bright side, they all look great in grey, we’re glad they decided to rock their natural look.
28. Double-Decker Airplane
Wee! This looks like so much fun! No wonder the kids wanted to redo this photo. We also want to be lifted in the air like a plane. Adults want some excitement in their lives too. This photo proves that you can do what you set your mind to. This mom managed to lift both of her children up in the air even when they were adults. From the looks of it, she was happy to do it too. We really believe that moms are superheroes.
Or at the very least, they do their best to make their children feel like they are. The bond these two siblings share with their mother is very clear and we love to see it. Good thing they didn’t have another sibling, we don’t think they’d be able to fit!
27. One Unhappy Camper
The terrified look on the little girl’s face is to be expected. These posed professional photos rarely go well. The older the child is, the more reluctant they are to have their photo taken. It’s just an unspoken rule that everyone knows. They even gave this girl a teddy bear to make her feel better, yet she still couldn’t wipe the frown off her face. She looks both terrified and sad at the same time.
Her little brother is too young to even know what’s happening. His face is of complete oblivion. The original looks like a shot from a dramatic movie, so we can understand why these two chose it. The contrast between the kids’ faces is too good!
26. “Don’t Touch My Eggs!”
Holidays are supposed to be about having fun and bringing the family together. This little girl was not having any of that. For some reason, she was very angry at her father. She was right in the middle of a tantrum when someone snapped a photo of her. Her dad and brother seem to be in complete shock about the whole thing. It’s as if they’re looking at the camera and saying “help”. The older version of the girl did a great job at emoting.
She looks just like her younger self. It’s as if she was genuinely angry again when the second photo happened. That’s unlikely though. She’s probably just a very good actress. Maybe we’ll see her in Hollywood one day!
25. Mom Was Determined to Make This Happen
Now, this is some serious dedication to recreating a childhood photo! It’s pretty hard to come across sailor boy outfits like these in adult sizes, so this man’s mother made one for him. She was able to recreate every detail of the outfit by hand. That’s a pretty impressive feat, and it definitely paid off.
We love the contrast of the beard, earring, and tattoos next to his younger self. You can tell his style developed quite a bit over the 37 years between these two photos. His mom was probably nostalgic for the past and came up with the idea of sewing him one of his old outfits.
24. Growing Up With A Furry Friend
What could be better than growing up with a childhood friend? Looks like that pup grew a whole lot more than his owner did! There’s a special bond that forms between a child and their pet, it only grows stronger over the years. You can tell these two have been best friends for a long time.
The backdrop of this photo looks like the perfect place to run around with a dog. If this is where he grew up then we’re definitely jealous. Green trees and wide open spaces, plus an adorable animal companion to keep you company; who could ask for more? No wonder the smile on his face hasn’t changed.
23. Same Bewildered Expression
This guy did an excellent job of recreating the confused baby look. Infants have a tendency to look at everything with a sense of awe and wonder (at least when they’re not crying their eyes out!). And can you blame them? They’re seeing the world for the first time! Everything is new and exciting to them.
Dad did a pretty good job of finding a similar sweater for this shoot, though the son obviously wouldn’t have been able to find a baby outfit in his size. We suppose he could’ve got one custom made, but that would’ve been an awkward order to place. We think the blue shirt gets the job done just fine.
22. Forever The Weird Kid
Some kids grow up to feel embarrassed by their childhood behavior. Some adults would look at that old photo and hide it forever. But this guy isn’t like that, he’s proud to have been the weird kid who took hilarious photos like these. He’s more than willing to put a t-shirt on upside down and do it again!
Some people never grow out of being the weird kid, and that’s totally okay! Life would be boring if everyone acted the exact same way. This guy knows how to break out of the box and get a little silly. A sense of humor is a great thing to have, and it looks like he was born with it.
21. Had To Buy A Bigger Basket
Kids can fit into all kinds of tiny spaces due to their small size. Remember how easy it was to hide in impossible places as a child? It’s a bummer we can’t do that anymore as adults…or can we? With a big enough laundry basket, anything is possible! We wonder if the basket was bought for the photoshoot or if they needed to upgrade the size anyway.
When a family grows larger, so does the laundry basket. The really incredible part of this photo is that she’s wearing the same pink onesie. We guess that’s not so hard to find in adult sizes these days. In fact, we wish we were in one right now
20. Santa Stayed Small
Oh no, Santa seems to have shrunk! This could only be the work of the Grinch…or a difference in perspective. Those kids seem to tower over Santa now, we wonder how he felt having those two grown ups on his lap. Must’ve hurt, adults weigh a bit more than little children! Just don’t ask him to pick you up.
Photos with Santa might be the best pictures to recreate, it’s pretty easy to find one of them at a local mall. Plus, they always have the same costume and beard, so there’s no need to make sure it’s the same guy! The truly incredible part of this photo is that their shirts are all exactly the same, how did they pull that off?
19. Sibling Rivalry
It’s not easy welcoming a new sibling into the family. You’ve gotten used to being the center of attention, but now you’ve got to relinquish the spotlight to a tiny stranger. This girl seems to be containing herself pretty well, though the look in her eyes makes us think she might be a little annoyed with the new addition to the family.
We’re sure she grew out of the sibling rivalry by the time they took this recreation. Then again, some brothers and sisters remain in competition with each other for a long time. Maybe they’re trying to see who can imitate their original expression best. Personally, we think the sister is winning.
18. Staying Young At Heart
This man proves that you never need to let go of your childhood spirit. Some people might give up the hobbies or interests they had in their youth, but not this guy. It looks like he’s just as good at skateboarding in his older years, no doubt a skill he’s been honing his whole life.
It just goes to show you can be cool at any age. We especially love how the little girl looks on with a smile on her face. If that’s her grandfather then she must be very proud of him. Looks like she’s ready to take his example and start her own skateboarding journey.
17. This Is Halloween
There are few things better than babies in costumes. These baby batman costumes make us want to squish their little faces! Those two were probably about to go trick-or-treating when this photo was taken. We wonder how they managed to find the same costume in their size. They must’ve really wanted to recreate the photo in an accurate way.
We hope they were brave enough to wear those costumes outside too. It would be a waste not to use them for Halloween. We’re sure they’d even get candy in those costumes if they went knocking on doors. People would be too busy laughing to care that they are too old for trick-or-treating.
16. If I Fits I Sits
Babies always find themselves in the most random places. This boy was having a great time sitting in a bowl on the kitchen counter. Who knows what goes on in a baby’s head? We think he’s pretending to be a fruit. He took all the apples out of the bowl and started to channel his inner apple. But as an adult, he’s a touch too large.
It’s hard to compete with a baby. We applaud him for committing and actually getting in there. That section of the kitchen looks like it hasn’t changed in years! We’d like to see the third version of this photo to see if anything moved.
15. Bathtub Blues
Bathtime photos are some of the most precious and embarrassing pictures from your childhood. With all the nudity and togetherness as well as soap, shampoo, and toys, you never know what kind of frame you’re going to get. But the silliness can also make the photos unbelievably cute. These brothers’ original and recreation pictures are completely adorable.
What’s amazing is that they all committed to fitting in the tub. With their legs squished up against the walls, it doesn’t look so comfortable. However, they stuck to the assignment and made it happen. It would have been perfect if they could have found the original dinosaur toys, but they’re forgiven. The facial expressions make up for it.
14. Fast Food Fun
Everyone in this photo looks super similar to their younger version. It definitely looks like ten years have passed, but simultaneously, each guy’s face is identical. Puberty might have changed them a little, but not as much as one might think. This was truly the best photo to recreate. The french fries in the mouth and nose are just ridiculous.
The fact that they agreed to do it again several years later shows their goofiness didn’t change much either. They even kept the color of shirts consistent between photos. It would be cool to know if they took the picture in the same Burger King location. The layout is similar, but the walls and kitchen look renovated.This could double as a timelapse photo for the restaurant as well.
13. Dressed To Impress
This well-dressed family is ready to go. The adorable button-down shirts on the two older boys make them look like little gentlemen. Their dapper father looks like he worked on Wall Street. That little baby just had no idea what’s going on, but he’s looking cute nonetheless. Their updated photo doesn’t quite live up to the original. Their outfits are a bit dated and don’t quite work anymore. At least the dad’s style remained unchanged.
Holding his giant son isn’t as effortless as it once was. While taking the new photo he probably reminisced about a time where he could pick up all three boys in his arms without breaking his back.
12. The Proud Graduate
This sibling love is amazing. The fact that they made a second version of the photo during her graduation makes the first all the better. Stealing the graduation hat is also a sweet touch. In the original, the eight-year-old was probably jealous of the weird head covering and wanted to try it on.
Watching your sibling graduate is often a moment of great joy. When you’re the younger one, seeing your older brother or sister receive their diploma is wondrous. It seems like ages before you’ll ever get there. But on the other hand, watching a younger sibling graduate leaves you full of pride and nostalgia. It makes you remember how innocent you were at the time and how much more you grew after.
11. The Three Musketeers
Family picture day was daunting for some of us. We hated being dressed up like dolls and pretending to be happy. These three didn’t share that sentiment. They were ecstatic to put on their best clothes and start cheesing for the camera. Those suspenders make us think the original photo was taken in the ’90s.
It’s less of a trend nowadays to have your children pose for professional photos. In the age of smartphones, people rather just snap instant photos of their children instead of having to pay for a photographer. These boys probably made their parents very happy when they agreed to be photographed again.
10. A New Christmas Card
The nativity scene is a Christmas card classic. Surprisingly, there are eighteen years between these two photos. The baby is definitely the most drastic difference. It also looks like everyone’s wearing the exact same clothes. Like the fabric just grew with them. Coming up with holiday card ideas can be a headache.
Do you need to bring someone professional? Do you use a theme or make it generic and formal? It seems like every year you need a new idea. But this family discovered the perfect hack. If you ever run out of Christmas card ideas, just remake an old one. Sure that’ll only work once, but that’s one less year you have to worry about.
9. Graduating with Your Twin
When little kids are graduating preschool or kindergarten their school might put on a ceremony. These are typically more for the parents’ enjoyment than the kids. They do look adorable in those little graduation caps and gowns. But it can’t compare to these twin sisters graduating college. For one thing, their outfits look a lot more expensive!
And with all due respect to toddlers, college is a bit more difficult than preschool. These two were probably the best of friends throughout their school years, and it’s incredible they were able to go to the same college together. These women started out in a Head Start program, it definitely took them places!
8. A Wig That Predicts the Future
Who didn’t love playing dress-up as a child? Some of us loved it so much that we still enjoy it as adults! Whether it means putting on a wig or donning an elaborate costume, there’s nothing more fun than becoming someone else for a moment. This baby was having the time of her life in this super curly, blonde wig.
Who knew she was manifesting her future hairstyle! Turns out this baby grew up to grow the same curly locks she wore as a hairpiece. Though her natural hair looks a lot healthier and more natural than a cheap wig. We wonder if her other baby photos are as prophetic.
7. Not Happy to See Santa
Most children can’t wait to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what they want for Christmas. But not every kid finds Santa charming and mysterious, some are utterly terrified. That or this little boy was tired and wanted to go home and nap. He wasn’t in the mood to pose for a photo. That Santa was probably pretty annoyed!
Decades later he decided to recreate this hilarious picture. We wonder how he explained his idea to the Santa he posed with. We’re sure he was happy to oblige, anyone who saw the first photo would’ve loved to be part of a recreation. It’s too funny to pass up!
6. Smushed
What better way to bond with your son than by making photocopies of your face. You’d think something like this would only be seen in movies. This is one very cool mom. She understands that a little silliness is necessary in life. These two have a special bond, we can tell. The way his mom is looking at her child in the new version of the photo is heartwarming.
She’s the type of mom that would do anything for her son. We hope they did more of these and made an album full of them. That’d be the most unique photo album. It’d be a nice refresher from the typical family photos.
5. Topless Trio
This new photo is going to be an interesting new addition to the family photo book. Someone’s going to be very confused when they see this amongst the baby photos. It’s always fun to see how different people change as they age. It appears as though nothing changed with these three. The cute blonde baby in the top photo became a tall beer-bellied man, but besides that, the two photos are almost identical.
It’s actually quite eerie how similar they look to the original. It’s nice to see they’ve all maintained their spectacular sense of humor. These brothers are definitely also best friends. Also, check out that attention to detail with the water hose!
4. Flex For The Camera
This photo is almost like a before and after picture. Amazingly, all the brothers stayed fit. But what’s truly the best part is each boy’s facial expression. They really kept true to the original. The guy in green has his eyes closed in both and the boy on the far left is giving the same blank expression as well. It’s details like these that really make these recreations work.
Usually when people decide to recreate childhood photos, they do it as a present to their parents. Mothers and fathers probably love seeing their children’s growth as well as being reminded of how silly they were when they were younger. In this situation, however, it was almost like the brothers planned this recreation as a challenge. Who could be the most buff after ten years?
3. A Gift for Mom and Pop
This photo was submitted by one of our readers! Eddie reached out and wanted us to share this photo recreation, one he and his brothers made as a present for their parents. We wonder if they’ve really kept the same height differences as adults or if they’re using some kind of photography trick.
Looks like the older brothers were able to find the exact same shirt, too! We guess those styles are still popular today, making it easy for them to replicate their outfits. The youngest brother had to improvise, but we think he did a good enough job. Any parents would be thrilled to have a photo like this. Excellent gift idea, guys!
2. A Nostalgic Wedding Photoshoot
Looks like this blushing bride used an old childhood photo for something more than nostalgia. This has got to be one of the most creative wedding shoots we’ve ever seen. It’s such a brilliant and unique idea! You can tell her brothers are her best friends, and they have been her whole life. No sibling bullying here!
Though we guess they could’ve broken out into a fight after the camera was tucked away, but we prefer to be optimistic. It’s pretty incredible that dad kept his truck in good condition all those years, assuming it’s the same car. Though it would’ve been worth it to rent a red truck just for this photoshoot.
1. Cousins are Forever Friends
Who doesn’t like growing up in a big family? If you don’t have a ton of siblings to play with you can always count on cousins! Looks like this bunch was the best of friends growing up, the kid in the blue shirt was definitely the leader of all their games. That or he’s the birthday boy in the photo, we assume that’s what the present’s for.
They should make this a yearly birthday tradition. Just imagine how cool it’ll look when you lay out the photos by year! It’d be like traveling back in time. As is, this is a pretty adorable recreation. They managed to get together and pose for the camera again!
