Will Smith admits till this day he didn’t fully understand the vision of the Wachowski brothers, now, sisters. When they pitched him the idea of the movie “The Matrix” and the role of the complicated hero saving the world, Neo, he just didn’t get it and passed on the role.
Today, we can’t imagine Neo played by anyone other than Keanu Reeves. Will is doing quite alright for himself so skipping this role didn’t hurt his career but maybe just his ego. There’s always a chance of reboot or redo, and maybe he can try his luck then.
