The Godfather and its sequels had huge scripts with plenty of opportunities for improve, but there’s one little part in particular that’s pretty memorable.

In the part where Paulie Gatto is supposed to assassinate Don Corleone in a hit that ultimately goes very wrong for him, Richard Castellano added a little spice to his written line, which was supposed to tell actor Johnny Martino to “leave the gun.”
