Fatalistic Teenagers
After the events of the reactor meltdown, rates of stress and anxiety disorders increased significantly. Some of the people most affected by this were the teenagers. They feel that because they were exposed to deadly radiation that they are already going to die young and have defects later in life. Thus, they have higher rates of reckless behavior such as drug abuse and unprotected sex.

The biggest issue with this is that a lot of them have the potential to live long healthy lives, but they can’t seem to see past the effects of the disaster.
