New Jersey, or Joisey, as it is pronounced in the local dialect, is used to being bullied by its neighboring states in the tri-state area, New York and Connecticut.

The two closest big cities are New York and Philadelphia which are both in different states, and its own biggest city, Newark is basically just known for housing the airport no one ever wants to fly through.

21. The New Joisey Shore

These facts lead to New Jersey being stereotyped as the sort of black sheep of the north east and the younger brother in the shadow of New York.
