30. Massachusetts, The Linguistically Challenged State

The national language of the United States is first and foremost English.

However, there are some states that speak English with such a heavy accent that the language is no longer understood.

Massachusetts is quite possibly the worst of that bunch, and they are well known for it. This street sign really paints the “pickcha”

No one really knows why or how the Boastin (Boston) accent came to be as it is, but it is no doubt one of the most defining things about Massachusetts.

Besides its accent Massachusetts is also well known for its sports teams, The Boston Celtic (NBA) and the Boston Red Sox (MLB), who are both two of the most successful franchises in their respective sports.
