The northernmost state in the continental United States is of course Maine.
Because of its geographical location, Maine is home to horrible winters, however, Mainers are generally used to the less-than-ideal weather situation, and make the best of what they’ve got, as can be seen in the photo below.

Maine is just as widely known for its lobsters.
In fact, the Pine Tree state is responsible for nearly 90% of the entire country’s total lobster supply!
This is largely due to a lesser known fact about Maine- it actually has a massive coastline, an even greater one than the state of California’s coastline.
Only Florida and Louisiana have larger coastlines.
