Christmas used to a fancy event where everyone would dress in their Sunday best and Christmas jumpers were not ironic. You’d buy a new tie, get a novelty apron and such, but nowadays Xmas is super casual and the opposite of fancy.

For better or for worse, the holiday is all about being comfy and cozy, matching pajamas and reindeer onesies are a staple, and there are even parties with the theme “ugly Christmas sweater” to make fun of the traditional ones we used to wear…or our moms used to make us wear.
