A staple of Christmas morning was to flip through all the annuals that would arrive on your doorstep in perfect timing for you to pour over them in your pajamas. A classic was the Beano and Dandy annual- characters such as Desperate Dan, Dennis the Menace and Gnasher would keep us amused for hours.
