Chefs Wanted To Surprise Their Clients, But Failed Miserably

Nowadays it’s very hard to impress anyone. Chefs all around the world try to make the most spectacular pieces of culinary arts for people to admire and share on social media sites such as Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. Because at the end of the day that’s where it’s at.

When people go to restaurants they have certain expectations.  Some restaurants and cafes lose their sense of reality while trying to surprise their clients with some unusual representations of their dishes, some are very artistic or very unsanitary. At least that’s our opinion.

Keep reading to reveal some unusual dishes that were actually served at restaurants.

30. Road Kill Accompanied By Bread

We are not sure what the chef was trying to do here. He may have collected some roadkill that was left on the side of the road and thought it would be a great idea to serve that with a piece of bread.

We are not even slightly impressed by this.

No, just no. It’s too odd to look at. Would you be able to take a piece of bread from this furry thing?  We wouldn’t want to.

This is quite an unusual way to serve food, even desserts for that matter. Is this a sort of taste enhancement? We are not sure, but at least let’s give this chef A for effort.

Next time, it’s best to ask for a plate just in case.

Well, usually when you’re cooking pasta, wine is added into the pasta for more flavor.

However,  this restaurant has decided to do the complete opposite and put the pasta in an actual wine bottle.

Well, that’s creative.

This restaurant has decided that a taco on its own just doesn’t hold up all of the stuffing on its own, so they were creative enough to grab a glass and make a great taco out of it.

That’s definitely one way to put it.

We suggest this chef he should sell it over to Taco Bell and start a new trend, maybe they will go for it.

Take a good look at those beautiful Mozarella sticks. This restaurant was probably out of plates when they realized they could just use Crocs to serve the customers these delicious cheezy Mozarella sticks, or should we say Crockzerella sticks!

All that we are currently thinking about watching this, is that we surely hope nobody wore it beforehand. *Cough*

We are not entirely sure what happened here. Obviously, this restaurant ran out of knives that day or they just didn’t have enough utensils so they’ve decided scissors will do the trick. Was it really their last resort?

A proper pizza place should always have a professional pizza cutter or at least a good knife to cut it properly. Period.

 

24. Tortilla Mittens

We are currently deliberating if we’ve seen it all. Obviously, we haven’t because this is an understatement.

If you’re a chef and you don’t have a plate or a bowl in your kitchen for your tortilla chips dish, all you need is your oven mitts.

This is probably what this restaurant thought they should do.

Our advice is if you ever own a restaurant and you’re out of bowls, try to find another creative way to present the chips.

This might not be the most suitable approach to it if you ask us.

Okay, most of us are currently looking at this thinking, what in the world? Yes, It actually happened.

This restaurant’s chef thought it could be cool to create a masterpiece of meat curtains just hanging in there.

This dish is a little too much.

This is quite an untraditional looking cocktail. However, we are not sure how to actually drink from this.

First of all, that’s a whole lot of meat. Second, we have to admit this is a recipe for sauce dripping all over the place.

This restaurant’s chef wanted to create a beautiful dish but honestly, we think this one should stay on a plate.

That wasn’t a pretty sight for sure.

Well, this is actually a thing. It’s based on a book called “Inspired Bites” which explains exactly how to create this particular look on your dinner table at home.

Do you think this is completely nuts? We do too.

If this is the modern way to present food on a table we’re for it. Just don’t use actual office utilities. It’s gross.

Ok, so this is a representation of a famous dish called “Chili Con Carne”, and this is quite disgusting if you ask us.

Nobody wants to eat from a toilet seat! We prefer the traditional version, please!

How do we start explaining this dish? Obviously the chef was out of plates because he thought it’s a good idea to just throw a fresh shrimp (We sure hope it’s fresh) on an actual phone.

What just happened here? We are not sure if this was on purpose or not but all we can hope for is that this shovel was thoroughly cleaned before the meat was placed on it.

The germophobe in me is starting to worry.

If you think about it, this shovel seems to be for good use. You can throw it as is in the oven and the meat will cook.

It certainly looks very appetizing for all of the meat lovers out there.

All that we can think about right now looking at this, is that we believe this restaurant got it all wrong.

Is this a special restaurant made specifically for dogs? Eating in a dog’s bowl is one thing but with actual food that’s made for humans?

Let’s give it up for one of the most crowded deserts you’ll ever see. We are calling this the “Pig’s special”.

Honestly, we are not sure how they managed to stuff everything in this poor little piggy but eventually, they did and this little piggy made it to this honorable list.

However, we are not sure if it’s a mix of waffles with croissants, it sure looks delicious regardless.

We all know that the egg containers are not the cleanest, and as soon as you remove the eggs from that container it should be thrown away immediately.

So this restaurant has gotten zero points for basic sanitary conditions.

The Irony here is uncanny. The chef didn’t notice or that was on purpose?

Well, we’ll never know. Either way, this is quite ironic. The desert is made of apples and the iPad is from one of the biggest companies in the world, Apple? Rings a bell, anyone?

We are not entirely sure these iPads are made to have actual food on them, but hey they at least tried with an actual image of a plate to make it look real. Not.

Any Lady Gaga fans here? Well, we hope you do remember the famous meat dress she wore which made so many headlines and numerous parodies following her appearance.

This is a great homage to that famous dress, on a plate this time not on the red carpet.

We are not sure how this restaurant usually serves their salads, but serving in on a big rock is a first.

Maybe they had some “Flintstones” theme of some sort that day. We are not sure, what we do know is that it doesn’t matter how you approach this. It’s going to be messy.

This is quite an odd idea. Belgian waffles with antipasti? It looks like the veggies are just hanging in there.

Telling from the pickles on the side it could be a somewhat odd combination. We give it a four out of ten.

Well, throughout this honorable list we’ve realized many if not all of these restaurants just don’t have plates. None.

The concept may just be outdated, that’s why they’ve decided that a chicken on a log would be a perfect idea.

This particular chef thought it would look cool to serve a croissant sandwich on a cutting board. Our guess is that they were out of any other kitchen tools, so the easy solution was to put the dish on a cutting board.

That surely saved them some precious time.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is a real pot, but it is not meant for plants. This particular chef thought they’d create a dish that we should probably call: “A pot of bread”.

Our understanding from all of this is that you can use anything as a serving dish, pots are also a thing!

There are some people who like to eat on plates, apparently, this chef thought people want to eat over someone’s head.

Redditors had hilarious reactions to this post: “At least it isn’t served on his beard”, “Baked beans, raisins, snails, uncooked tofu, marmalade, and seaweed. Served on a plaster dead guy.”
