Black Friday, Meet Social Action

As the biggest sales day and commerce day of the year, Black Friday is a massive potential windfall for store managers. It has in turn become a very popular day for unhappy workers to protest their low wages, lack of quality in their working conditions and having to work obscene hours all because of the holiday.

More interesting, some protests have to do with cultural ties. At the Emeryville Bay Street Mall in California, there are annual protests against Black Friday due to the building having been built on a supposed sacred burial site.
